Ryan Reynolds Feeling Pressure
Ryan Reynolds, who brought the iconic character Deadpool to life on the big screen, has recently opened up about his experience working on the movie "X-Men Origins: Wolverine." In the film, Reynolds played the character of Wade Wilson, who later becomes Deadpool. However, the portrayal did not go as planned for the actor.
Ryan Reynolds revealed that he felt threatened by Marvel Studios to take on the role of Wade Wilson, describing the experience as "very frustrating." He felt that he was not given creative freedom to fully develop his character, as the studio was more interested in pleasing the fans than creating a well-rounded character.
Moreover, Reynolds explained that he had already signed on for the standalone "Deadpool" movie when he was asked to play Wade Wilson in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine." He agreed to the role but knew that the version of Deadpool portrayed in the movie was not accurate. Adding to the challenge, the Hollywood writers' strike at the time meant that there was no script for the movie, so Ryan Reynolds had to write his own lines.
Despite the frustrations, Ryan Reynolds went on to redeem the character of Deadpool with his standout performances in the standalone "Deadpool" movies. Fans are eagerly anticipating the release of "Deadpool 3," which is set to bring together Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, and is directed by Shawn Levy, slated for a November 2024 release.
