Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is the fifth and final installment of the Indiana Jones film series, directed by James Mangold and co-written by Jez Butterworth and John-Henry Butterworth. 

The film features Harrison Ford as archaeologist Indiana Jones, and also stars John Rhys-Davies as Sallah along with new cast members including Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Antonio Banderas, Shaunette Renée Wilson, Thomas Kretschmann, Toby Jones, Boyd Holbrook, Olivier Richters, Ethann Isidore, and Mads Mikkelsen. Produced by Lucasfilm and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, it is an American action-adventure film.

Indiana Jones 5 Storyline:

Set in 1969 during the Space Race, Indiana Jones is an archaeologist and adventurer who is troubled by the U.S. government's use of former Nazis to compete against the Soviet Union in the race to space. 

Accompanied by his goddaughter, Helena Shaw, Jones embarks on a mission. However, Jürgen Voller, a NASA member and ex-Nazi, has his own agenda of making the world a better place according to his own vision.

Indiana Jones 5 Release date:

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny has undergone several release date changes. Initially slated for July 19, 2019, the film was delayed to July 10, 2020, before being shifted to July 9, 2021, and then again to July 29, 2022, due to the COVID-19 pandemic's impact on the film industry. 

The film is currently set to be released on June 30, 2023, by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.

Indiana Jones 5 Cast:

The cast of the upcoming Indiana Jones movie includes Harrison Ford as the titular character, Phoebe Waller-Bridge as his goddaughter and catalyst of the plot.

 Mads Mikkelsen as a former Nazi, Antonio Banderas as a friend of Indy, John Rhys-Davies as Sallah, Shaunette Renée Wilson as a government agent, Thomas Kretschmann as a Nazi collaborator, Toby Jones as an ally of Indy, and Boyd Holbrook as the villain's right-hand man. Olivier Richters and Ethann Isidore have also been cast in unspecified roles.

Indiana Jones Pre- Production:

In March 2016, Disney announced that a fifth Indiana Jones film would be released on July 19, 2019, with Harrison Ford reprising his role and Steven Spielberg directing. David Koepp was hired as the screenwriter, and a MacGuffin was chosen for the film.

 The release date was pushed back to 2020 and then to 2021, and eventually to 2023. In February 2020, Spielberg stepped down as director, and James Mangold was confirmed as the new director in May 2020. Mangold wrote the new screenplay with Jez and John-Henry Butterworth, and consulted with Lucas and Spielberg, who serve as executive producers.
