Maidaan is an upcoming biographical sports drama film in Hindi directed by Amit Sharma and produced by Boney Kapoor, Akash Chawla, Arunava Joy Sengupta, and Zee Studios. 

The film is based on the golden era of Indian football from 1952 to 1962 and features Ajay Devgn in the role of football coach Syed Abdul Rahim, along with Priyamani, Rudranil Ghosh, and Gajraj Rao. A. R. Rahman has composed the music for the film, which is set for a theatrical release on June 23, 2023.

Maidaan Film Release date

According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, the release date for the movie Maidaan has been postponed once again. Originally slated for release on October 15, 2021, the film was later rescheduled for June 2022, and then February 17, 2023, before being pushed back further to June 23, 2023.

About Syed Abdul Rahim?

Production

Filming for the movie began in August 2019 but was delayed due to COVID-19. Originally set for release in June 2022, it was postponed to June 2023.
