Nawazuddin Siddiqui, the acclaimed Bollywood actor, recently shared an intriguing anecdote about one of his past relationships that ended up being recreated in the memorable film Gangs of Wasseypur, directed by Anurag Kashyap. In the film, Nawazuddin portrayed the character of Faisal Khan, son of gangster Sardar Khan, while Huma Qureshi played his love interest.

During an interview with Mashable India, Nawazuddin disclosed that Anurag Kashyap drew inspiration from one of his personal experiences and incorporated it into the screenplay of Gangs of Wasseypur. The scene in question involved seeking permission before physical contact, a topic that has gained significant attention in recent times.

Nawazuddin shared the incident that unfolded with one of his former girlfriends. Recounting the moment, he revealed, "I had a girlfriend, and we decided to visit a park together.

The park seemed quite empty, so I innocently placed my hand on hers. To my surprise, she asked, 'Yeh kya hai?' (What is this?) I replied, 'Kuch nahi, haath hai' (Nothing, it's just my hand). She then informed me that it is 'illegal'. This single word evoked images of police and court cases in my mind, making me feel like I had made a grave mistake."

Curious to understand her perspective, Nawazuddin asked her to clarify what she meant by "illegal." She elaborated, "If you wanted to touch my hand, you should have sought permission." Nawazuddin admitted that she had a valid point. She further explained the importance of respecting boundaries, comparing it to knocking on someone's door before entering their house.

Anurag Kashyap, who directed Gangs of Wasseypur, remembered this intriguing story that Nawazuddin had shared during the film's workshops. He decided to include it in the script, creating a significant scene between Nawazuddin's character and Huma Qureshi's character near a lake. The scene was beautifully captured in a single take and went on to become one of the film's most talked-about moments, contributing to Nawazuddin's rise to national fame.

Following the success of Gangs of Wasseypur, Nawazuddin Siddiqui has established himself as one of the most versatile actors in the industry. Recently seen in Sudhir Mishra's Afwaah, he has an exciting lineup of films awaiting release. These include his collaboration with Kangana Ranaut in Tiku Weds Sheru, as well as projects like Noorani Chehra, Bole Chudiyan, Haddi, and Sangeen.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui's revelation about the real-life inspiration behind the iconic scene in Gangs of Wasseypur sheds light on the creative process and the nuances of storytelling in Indian cinema. His ability to bring authenticity to his roles continues to captivate audiences, solidifying his status as a respected and sought-after actor in the industry.
