Understanding the Entire Incident

Badshah was allegedly invited to promote the FairPlay app, an auxiliary application associated with the Mahadev app. Reports suggest that this online platform was engaged in the business of online betting, with Badshah purportedly endorsing FairPlay. It has been reported that FairPlay conducted screenings for the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL), and Viacom 18 had filed a complaint against the app.

FairPlay's Connection with the Mahadev App

FairPlay is linked to the Mahadev app, which was promoted by Saurabh Chandrakar and Ravi Uppal. Currently, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is investigating the Mahadev Book app for possible money laundering activities. Several well-known personalities, including Ranbir Kapoor, Huma Qureshi, Kapil Sharma, Shraddha Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty, and Tiger Shroff, were allegedly invited to Chandrakar's wedding in February this year.

Badshah's association with the FairPlay app has brought attention not only to his legal predicament but also to the broader issue of celebrities endorsing online platforms without fully understanding their activities. As the investigation unfolds, it raises questions about the ethical responsibilities of celebrities when endorsing products and services, especially those related to online gambling.

This incident serves as a cautionary tale for both celebrities and the public, emphasising the importance of due diligence before associating with any online platforms. As the legal process continues, it remains to be seen how this case will impact Badshah's career and the way celebrities engage with online platforms in the future.
