After years of waiting and speculations, Marvel officially confirmed that Marvel's Wolverine will launch on September 15, 2026, exclusively on PlayStation 5. The announcement was made during PlayStation's marketing campaign via a gameplay reveal trailer earlier this year. 

The release date instantly sparked excitement among fans, who have been waiting since the game's original teaser which was revealed in 2021. In fact, the release date is widely regarded as one of the most widely talked-about gaming announcement of 2026.

There is no confirmed PC or Xbox version for now. However, fans are reportedly hoping for a PC version after the initial launch. 

Insomniac are the developers of Marvel's Wolverine, the same studio that developed the hugely successful Marvel's Spider-Man franchise. 

Over the years, Insomniac has built a strong reputation for delivering cinematic superhero games with emotional storytelling and fast-paced combat. Expectations for this game is high, especially after the success of Spider-Man, Miles Morales and Spider-Man 2.

Marvel has not released an official cast list yet. But Logan/Wolverine remain the central character. Reports mention Hugh Jackman due to his iconic portrayal of Logan in the X-Men movies. But no official confirmation about  his participation have been made first.

Marvel's Wolverine Gameplay

Marvel's Wolverine gameplay trailers revealed more brutal, darker and more bloody experiences than the Spider-Mann games. So, gamers expect the combat system to be “fast, fluid, and ferocious.”

Again, heavy emphasis is on aggressive melee combat, darker and grittier tone, as well as the Wolverine's healing factor. While the Spider-Man games were colorful, Marvel's Wolverine is expected to present a more mature experience, which will explore Logan's rage and fighting styles as he evolves during battles.

Will Spider-Man appear in Marvel's Wolverine?

The Spider-Man games are well-known for mentioning famous MCU heroes and villains. While Peter Parker and/or Miles Morales are expected to make guest appearances, nothing has been made official yet.
